We finished the brick window well today!! But before I show you what it looks like, let me bring you up to date on what we did.
6/18
Installed window. (like it was that easy :)
6/24
Widened boys window well hole, built the forms for the footing and leveled it. Ready to pour tomorrow.
6/25
Poured concrete footing w/ boy's help. Will let it cure for a few days during the family reunion.
It actually sat there for a few weeks....and we never did get a picture of just the foundation.

Started laying brick. And believe me, it isn't as easy as it looks. We got 5 and 1/2 courses of bricks laid today.
7/16
Went to Poky to work on Momma's rental. Cased two doors and a window, installed lenoleum flooring in the downstairs utility and Melanie put up cedar privacy lattis over the ugly old cement front steps sides and painted the rails black. Looks much improved. Mom has the pictures.
7/18
Finally got to spend a day laying bricks again. And it took all day. We started at 9:30 and finished at 8 pm. We got it to this point by 4 pm.

Then we put plastic on the outside to serve as a water barrier and back filled the trench.
After that, we decided on where we wanted to put the edging for the flower bed, and installed it.
Then I dug around in the bottom of the window well and broke up some of the concrete chunks that were there and we poured gravel that we got from cleaning our sand box sand over the bottom of the window well.
It's not perfect, but hey, it's a window well. Mitering the corners took some time, but it turned out looking pretty good I thought.
Spending a full two days as a mason makes me glad for my degree. It's tough work!!

All that's left on the outside now is to replant flowers and put on brick moulding around the window.
